Are you looking to upskill and gain new skills to return to the workforce?

A 20-day training programme to help individuals rebuild and rebrand themselves to secure future employment. Trainees will develop key skills for their personal and professional life. This course is suitable for anyone who is currently unemployed. This programme is being delivered as part of the Skills Connect Initiative.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Understand the importance of you as your own brand when returning to the workplace.
  2. Understand and list the essentials of teamwork and perform the skills to work as part of a team.
  3. Have the key skills and techniques to build personal impact, influence and effectiveness when dealing with people.
  4. Know what a good CV looks like and have the skills to compose one.
  5. Be able to prepare effectively for interviews by participating in a mock interview.
  6. Develop a personal contingency plan.
  7. Develop a digital profile on LinkedIn/Jobs Ireland to improve employment opportunities and begin to network with professionals.
  8. Have completed 3 -5 days work experience.
  9. Have visited training centres to learn about further opportunities to develop and for employment.

This course is suitable for anyone who is currently unemployed or on temporary lay off.

Trainer Profile

Fiona Dunne of Hospitality Skills Ireland

Fiona Dunne has over 28 years experience in the hospitality sector. A failte Ireland Cert Instructor from 2004 to 2009 and a Hospitality Instructor from 2012 to present. Fiona Dunne completed her training at GMIT in 1998.

Fiona Dunne completed the Training Needs Identification & Design  Level 6 in 2016  with CPL Institute and the Train the Trainer in 2004 by Failte Ireland.
