Richard Linden is a seasoned entrepreneur and hospitality industry professional originally from Sweden and currently based in Dublin, Ireland and with over 20 years of experience in some of the world’s most renowned venues across Europe and Asia.
Richard’s journey in the hospitality industry began in his native Sweden, where his passion for mixology and dedication to customer service quickly set him apart.
In 2012, Richard realised his long-held dream of owning his own establishment with the founding of the Dublin Bar Academy in Ireland’s capital city. Since then, under his leadership, the Dublin Bar Academy has become synonymous with excellence in cocktail education and training, attracting aspiring bartenders from around the world.
Richard’s innovative approach to mixology and his commitment to mentorship have earned him recognition and respect within the industry.
He is known for his creative cocktail creations, as well as his dedication to sharing his knowledge and expertise with others.
As he continues to lead the Dublin Bar Academy to new heights, Richard remains dedicated to his mission of raising the standards of bartending and inspiring the next generation of cocktail enthusiasts, both in Ireland and beyond.
Gary Kelly
Head Instructor
Gary Kelly is a dedicated professional with a passion for the hospitality industry, particularly in bartending and mixology. His journey began in his hometown of Naas, County Kildare, where he attended Scoil Mhuire Community School, earning his Leaving Certificate with distinction.
Driven by a desire to excel in his field, Gary pursued further education at the Technological University of Dublin, where he attained a First-Class Honours certification in Continued Professional Development. This academic achievement underscored his commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
Gary’s career in hospitality commenced as a bartender at St. Kevin’s GFC, where he honed his skills in serving beverages and providing exceptional customer service. His dedication
and expertise led to his progression to roles of increasing responsibility, including Head Bartender at the esteemed Hamlet Court Hotel in Co. Meath.
In 2023, Gary embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining the Dublin Bar Academy as Head Instructor. In this role, he shares his wealth of knowledge and experience with aspiring bartenders, imparting essential skills in mixology, bar management, and customer relations.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Gary is deeply engaged in his community and is known for his strong work ethic and positive attitude. He is committed to ongoing professional development and is always seeking new opportunities to expand his skill set and knowledge base.

Anke Hartmann
Wine Educator
Anke Carmen Hartmann is a highly skilled professional in the hospitality and wine industry, with a wealth of experience spanning over two decades. Originally from Sebnitz in Sachsen, Germany, Anke has cultivated a rich background in hotel management, sommelier expertise, and operations leadership.
Anke’s academic journey reflects her commitment to excellence in her field. She holds a WSET Diploma Level 4, equivalent to an undergraduate specialist of wines and spirits, from London, England. Additionally, she has pursued advanced sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommelier and completed WSET educator training, showcasing her dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
Anke’s professional experience is marked by notable achievements and contributions to various esteemed establishments. She has served in key roles such as General Manager, Operations Manager, Restaurant Manager, and Head Sommelier in renowned venues across Europe and Ireland. Her tenure at establishments like The Lamplight Wine Bar & Merchants in Clifden, Drury Buildings in Dublin City, and the 2 Michelin starred Tigergourmet Restaurant & Gastronomie in Frankfurt.
Throughout her career, Anke has demonstrated proficiency in diverse areas of hotel management, including financial control, sales, marketing, HR operations, and staff training. She has successfully overseen the setup and opening of new establishments, managed high- end wine cellars, and led teams to achieve prestigious accolades such as Michelin Stars.
